How long is a Metro transfer good for?
This new 1-Way Trip fare includes free transfers for up to two hours to complete a one-way trip.
Is MetroCard valid for buses?
With a MetroCard You can transfer for free between local bus routes and local buses and subways. (The transfer gets encoded on your MetroCard. You’ll swipe it again, but you won’t be charged.) Transfers are good within two hours of when you paid the fare.
Do Port Authority Bus tickets expire?
These tickets are valid until used (no expiration date) and are non-refundable.
How does 2 hour transfer work?
How it works: Tap your PRESTO card or PRESTO Ticket on a card reader when you enter a subway station or board a vehicle. Your fare will be deducted and a transfer will be applied to your card or ticket. As long as you’re within two hours from your first tap, you won’t be charged another fare.
How much is a 30 day Metro pass?
Cost: $33 (7-day) or $127 (30-day). You have unlimited swipes on the subway and local buses for either 7 or 30 days. Your MetroCard can only hold one Unlimited Ride refill at a time. You can’t pause an unlimited ride card once you’ve started using it.
What is Fast $9 MetroCard?
You have the choice between Single Ride, MetroCard and Fast $9 MetroCard. Select Single Ride if you only need one ticket for one trip and pay $3. To purchase a Pay-Per-Ride Card or a 7-Days-Unlimited Card press MetroCard. Select $9 MetroCard, if you want to buy a Pay-Per-Ride Card and you want to get done quick.
Is OMNY on a bus?
OMNY is available throughout New York City OMNY is available at all subway stations and on all buses, allowing you to tap and go throughout New York City. You can use OMNY with your own contactless card or smart device. OMNY currently supports a full-fare, pay-per-ride option for now, including free transfers.
How do you pay for the Port Authority bus?

How many times can you use a transfer?
There is no real “limit” to how many times someone can transfer universities. The main issue would be the financial aid piece, and transferring credits.
Can PRESTO cards expire?
PRESTO cards no longer expire, even if there is an expiry date shown on the card (you may continue to use your card even after any indicated expiry date). The system instantly calculates and deducts the correct fare or recognizes your individual PRESTO card.

A transfer allows the rider of a public transportation vehicle who pays for a single-trip fare to continue the trip on another bus or train. Historically, transfers may have been stamped or hole-punched with the time, date, and direction of travel to prevent their use for a return trip.
