How do I get to Monteverde by bus?
How to get to Monteverde by bus: From San José: Buses to Monteverde leave San José at 6:30 AM and 2:30 PM. The stop — which is known locally as the old Puntarenas bus stop — is located at Calle 14 and Avenida 11 and 9. The morning bus passes by Sardinal around 9:00 AM and arrives in Monteverde at 11:00 AM.
How do I get from Samara to Monteverde?
There is no direct connection from Samara to Monte Verde. However, you can take the bus to Airport Kurumoch, take the walk to Kurumoch airport, fly to Tambor, then take the drive to Monte Verde.
Is Monteverde road paved?
This is a paved road and takes around 1.5 hours (depending on traffic). Then you will turn right onto Route 606 Costa Rica, the route to Monteverde via Sardinal. You will see a gas station on your right and a huge billboard for Sky Trek/Adventures. Drive onto this road for about 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) and turn left.
How far is Arenal from Monteverde?
By road, it’s 66 miles (106 km) between Arenal and Monteverde. The drive winds around Lake Arenal and through the town of Tilarán, and takes upwards of 4 hours with a 4×4 vehicle. By bus, it’s 8 hours. In our taxi/boat/taxi, it takes only 2.5 hours to get between Monteverde and Arenal (see regional Arenal Map).
