Is the VTA free?
Adults get a free ride on a local bus or light rail or discounted ride on an express bus within 2 hours of boarding AC Transit. Youth, senior and disabled riders get free rides on all VTA service within 2 hours of boarding AC Transit.
How do you pay for the bus in San Jose?
Just load your Clipper card with cash, tag it upon boarding, and once you’ve paid the equivalent of a Day Pass, any further local rides that day will be free. VTA light rail operates on a proof-of-payment system. All light rail passengers must have a valid fare before boarding light rail.
What is EZ fare?
The EZ transit pass is a monthly pass good for local travel on 23 different public transit carriers throughout the Greater Los Angeles region. All EZ transit passes are sold on plastic TAP cards loaded with an electronic EZ transit pass. You can tap your card on any system that accepts TAP.
Is VTA fare collecting?
Starting April 1, the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will resume collecting fares unless the ride is to a vaccination site. How do you use a Clipper card on a VTA light rail?
To use your Clipper card, locate the Clipper card reader at the entrance of the VTA bus or light rail station (next to the Ticket Vending Machines) and hold your card flat against the Clipper logo until you hear a beep. Customers must tag their Clipper card before boarding a light rail vehicle.
How much is the metro fare in Los Angeles?
Metro’s base fare is $1.75. On Metro bus, you can pay cash each time you board (bus operators don’t carry change, so you’ll need exact fare) or buy and add up to $20 to a reusable TAP card.
